There’s no word on exactly when the promotional period will end. Mojang says the birthday skinpacks from previous years will also be available for download, giving the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition community access to several other costumes as well. This year’s celebratory skinpack includes a handful of creature-themed t-shirts for Steve and Alex to wear, including creep shirts, duck shirts and several more. Unfortunately, the new content being released this week isn’t anywhere as complex or exciting as those past releases. In fact, while the feature was originally exclusive to the PC version of the game, Microsoft and Mojang have been making a killing in recent years, signing deals with a variety of developers, publishers and console manufacturers to create skins and mash-up content based on other popular video game IP. Skins have been a big part of the Minecraft community for several years now. Just don’t go expecting anything too impressive.
